Five defining moments in the history of ITU
On Tuesday, 12 May, Jørgen Staunstrup will give a lecture reflecting on five key moments and decisions that have shaped the IT University of Copenhagen.

Drawing on his many years as Pro‑Rector, member of the senior management, and other central roles, he will share personal insights into ITU’s development – from education and internationalisation to strategic direction.

The lecture will also look ahead, as Jørgen Staunstrup offers his perspective on societal change and the future role of ITU.

The event is open to everyone interested.

Become a student mentor
Are you looking for a student job, and would you like to develop your counselling and communication skills? Then you should consider applying to become a student mentor.

As a student mentor, you will support a fellow student who has special needs such as autism, anxiety, or ADHD. Your assistance will help them manage their studies and daily life on campus.

As part of the introduction to the job, you will receive training on anxiety, ADHD, and autism. You will also receive counselling and supervision from professionally trained psychologists.

The procedure to obtain compute hours/GBs on UCloud from May
UCloud is migrating to a new data centre from May. This will result in a new procedure for obtaining CPU and GPU hours, and storage capacity.

As students (including TAs), you cannot apply, but you can get access to UCloud by following the steps below:

Step 1: Book an interview with the HPC administrator.

Step 2: Describe your needs and specify the required CPU and GPU hours, storage capacity, and the duration of the project.

Step 3: Inform your supervisor of your requirements and ask them to apply.

Step 4: When your supervisor has had the project approved, they will send you an access token or add you as a user to the project.
 
CCIT seminar with Luis Landa on ITU's solar server
On 11 May, from 12:00-13:00, Center for Climate IT welcomes you for a talk and discussion with Luis Landa about the operation of ITU's solar server. 

The talk is titled “ITU's Solar Server and Energy Limited Computing Environments for Education: An Update and Reflecting on 1 year of operation”. 

We look forward to discussing for instance what role such infrastructure can play in an university that educates professionals for the IT industry?

Magic The Gathering Commander Night
Do you want to play some paper Magic? Maybe learn to play? Do you like free snacks? Then Magic Night is just for you.

At this event, you will be able to play Magic with all kinds of people. If you are new to Magic or not very experienced, there will be people to help you through the games, so don’t worry.

We have decks and playmats you can borrow. But if you have your own decks that you love, or just want to try out, feel free to bring them. Just check in with your opponents about power levels, proxies, and so on.

The event is completely free. All we ask is that you have fun.
