The Fastest DHL Team at ITU – Here Are the Winners of 2022
The Winners of this year’s DHL Run have been found. Team RunIT consisting of five SWU students from 5th semester beat the other 14 teams completing the 5x5 km distance in the time 2:01:44.

RunIT consists of Thomas Wolgart Røberch, Mie Milvang-Jensen, Adrian Valdemar Borup, Joachim Alexander Borup and Rasmus Balthazar Rødgaard Andreasen.

They were really surprised they won: “We joined the DHL for the social part and to have fun, and we never expected to win”, they claim. However, the competition from Team Long Shortys, consisting of five fellow students from their class who were very verbal about beating them, did motivate them to run faster than planned just as the cheering crowds helped them get through the last hard kilometer. As a result, they all finished the course several minutes faster than planned.

Team RunIT are very happy and proud to have their names engraved on the trophy which will be on display at the Information Desk until next year's DHL Run.

Do You Know the GDPR Rules?
At ITU we now offer an online GDPR course to all students who want to learn how to protect, store and handle personal data.

Completing the online course can be a great help if you are writing a project (eg. bachelor project or master’s thesis) or have a student job, where you need to handle personal and sensitive data.

The duration of the course is approximately 60 minutes. When you complete the course, you will receive a certificate by e-mail.

Let’s Launch the Course Evaluation
Yet again we want to focus on the evaluation of your courses. This process runs each semester and is organised in two steps, with the Mutual Alignment of Expectations (formative evaluation) as a first step.

Over the next weeks, your teachers will facilitate a formative evaluation in class. The purpose is to align expectations between students and teachers and find out if something needs adjustment.

AIR LAB Will Be Closed for Student Project Support This Semester
In AIR LAB we are strongly committed to creating an open space where students and researchers can work on their projects and get advice and support on digital and physical prototyping.

In order to keep this profile, we have to close our student project support for this semester, while we do some internal maintenance.

We are still open for borrowing equipment. Come by Tuesdays

BreakIT: Nixie Tube Clock
BreakIT finishes its build of the six-digit Nixie tube clock! Nixie tubes are an obsolete display technology from before LED, LCD and pixel displays.

The BreakIT clock is Arduino-based with a wifi module to automatically set the time.

So far we assembled a kit. Now the hardware needs to be tested, the software needs to be installed, and the clock needs to be put into a case, including the interface buttons.

Everybody is welcome!
