Call for ITU Election 2022 
It is time for the annual election at ITU. Now is your chance to influence your university, your studies, and student life.

Your participation is important! To be able to vote and run for election, your name must be on the electoral rolls.  

Check which collegiate bodies have seats up for election and make sure that you are listed on the right electoral rolls.

If you would like to run, you must submit a candidate list by November 15 at noon.

Are the US Elections Flawed?
Join us for beers and a movie screening with introduction by the director.
 
On Friday, November 4, 14:00-16:00, ITU's Center for Information Security and Trust will screen the documentary KILL CHAIN: THE CYBER WAR ON AMERICA’S ELECTIONS in Analog.

The Emmy-nominated documentary highlights vulnerabilities in today’s election technologies, investigates the startling problems with America’s voting system, and exposes the alarming risks they pose to American democracy.

The screening is introduced by Professor Carsten Schürmann, who appears in the film, and director Simon Ardizzone.
 
The event is open to the public and it is not necessary to sign up.
 
Node Music Night - Open Mic Format
Do you dream of running a show? Maybe you and a couple of your buddies have a fantastic rendition of All star? or you just have a killer ukulele cover of Through the fire and flames~~
  
At Music Night, we create a fun and comfy atmosphere, where people can come perform with whatever they want. Come and serve, or just come and watch!

It will take place at cafe analog on November 2 at 18.00.

The Node Choir will perform at 16:00, followed by brave participants who have signed up beforehand. After that, we have an open mic.

Urgent – Keep Your Devices Up to Date! 
Please check and make sure all your devices’ operating systems are up to date. This applies to laptops as well as tablets and phones. 

Particularly MacBooks and iOS devices currently have a security risk that needs updating as soon as possible.

On your Mac, just open the system preferences, select Software update. 
On iOS, open Settings – General and then “Software update”.

Even if you have auto-update enabled, please check to make sure that your device is up to date.
 
Workshop - Making Social Science Matter
Workshop: Making Social Science Matter: Applied Phronesis

On Thursday, November 3, 12.30-16.00, VKR Professor Bent Flyvbjerg, will host a workshop about phronesis and how it is employed as a practical research methodology. 

Researchers, postdocs, doctoral students, and master's students are encouraged to sign up.

GitHub Workshop
You might have heard about GitHub or even tried using it. This workshop will "unblackbox" GitHub - what it is and how it can be useful to you. 

In the first hour, we will go through the differences between Git and GitHub as well as the motivation for using it.

In the second hour, we will go through a common workflow with Git and look at typical problems. 

Join us in AUD1 on Thursday, November 3, 16:00-18:00.
 
Playtest Friday
Get your game played and/or test others!

Playtest Friday will take place in the DR Building, Friday, November, 16:00-18:00.

We are happy to see all kinds of video games, board games, playful software, toys etc. It's not a requirement to present your project though, you can just come to play and hang around - bring a friend as well!

 
Networking Event with Deloitte and Domstolsstyrelsen
DIM Union invites you all to our first networking-event!

Join us Thursday November 3, 16.30-18.30 in Auditorium 0 for an evening with two diverse companies - Domstolsstyrelsen's IT Department and Deloitte's Technology, Strategy & Transformation Department - for a talk about how they approach IT and digitalization in their work and what kinds of talent they seek for the industry.

Get inspired and help us reflect on what skills we as students need to develop in order to succeed in the information age, and what the demands are from our future employers.
