ITU Will Soon Be Closed Off Every Night to Save Energy
We are all amid an energy crisis and just like everyone else, we here at ITU need to conserve energy. Therefore, the Executive Management has decided that from November 30 both the building on Rued Langgaards Vej and on Emil Holms Kanal will be closed off every night at 22.00, and everyone still present will be asked to leave. ITU will reopen at 06.00 in the morning.

Only exception is on Fridays where the doors at Rued Langgaards Vej will remain open to allow for Scrollbar to run as usual. Canteen and cleaning staff plus staff from the IT Department and Facilities Management can also still enter the building outside the new opening hours.

University Director Georg Dam Steffensen says: “It has not been an easy decision to make. Open doors are an important part of the ITU spirit, but we do need to conserve energy, and this way we can minimize energy cost during the night without consequences for most students and staff. By closing off the building during nights, we can also keep Analog and Scrollbar running as usual”.

New Registration Requirement from Spring 2023
From Spring 2023, students’ registration requirement will be lowered from 30 to 22,5 ECTS.

The change was proposed by Student Council, recommended by The Board of Studies and approved by ITU Management in June 2022.

It will in many cases offer a much-needed flexibility for students who are in need of a breather, but the flexibility comes with a responsibility. Pushing a course or a project does not necessarily lead to a problematic delay, but it opens up for new scenarios and requirements to be aware of.

NB. BSc first year students will still need to study full time during their first year.
