Meet mentors from the games industry
Women in Games DK is bringing you DONNA DAY, a matchmaking event for students who identify as women or a gender minority and who interested in pursuing a career in games.

We have invited eight professionals from various fields of expertise working at LEGO, Triband, SYBO and modl.ai. They will share their experience, give you some tips and answer your questions.

BreakIT: Mutoscope Construction
The mutoscope is a pre-cinematic mechanical technology for displaying short motion pictures using the same principles as a flip-book.It was very popular in the Victorian era.

BreakIT builds a simple mutoscope and supplies all the required card- and foam board, Meccan, scraps and uridium.

Everybody is welcome!

Workshop by Ida Jørgensen and Daniel Cermak-Sassenrath (both from Games).

When: April 20 from 14:00.

Blockchain and Innovation Law
This conference focuses on the intersection of blockchain technology and innovation law. It is intended for students, scholars, and professionals enthusiastic about the law, blockchain, or both.

The lectures will cover subjects such as patient data as NFTs, blockchain-infused circular economies, and trademark law in web 3.0.

The conference is held hybrid and refreshments will be served after the lectures in Atrium.
 
Tuesday Data Jam in the hdilab
Are you interested in programming data visualizations?

At our next data jam in the hdilab, we will explore possibilities for designing data visualizations using the d3.js library. This is one of the libraries most often used to create novel interactive data visualizations based on the core idea of binding data to visuals.

We will show you how to get started with the necessary tools and web technologies. 

You will get a brief introduction and hands-on experience with the technology. Light refreshments will be provided.

Still interested? Then come join us on Tuesday, April 18, from 16:00 at the hdilab (4th floor, Corridor D).
 
ITU Poker Bot Battle 2023
This friday, April 21, you are invited to an exciting event where "a good poker face ain’t enough".
 
During the event you will have to code the best poker playing robot to beat your competitors.

Once time is up, everyone’s bots will be faced off against each other. The top three poker bots will be rewarded handsomely.
 
If you are new to programming and/or poker, we will get you started and help you along the way.

Web scraping workshops
Look at the internet from a different perspective and learn how to data scrape.
 
In the first session, we will learn how to understand website infrastructure and formulate an appropriate research question.

A week after, we will dig deeper into automating, accumulating, and analyzing the data with Python which might be useful for your future projects.
 
Students with any level of programming experience are welcome to participate.
