Talk: Software supply chain attacks and defenses for Web3
Professor Martin Monperrus will be giving a research talk at ITU on the 19 May in Auditorium 4 from 16:00 - 18:00.
 
In this talk, he will dive into the world of software supply chain attacks, especially in the context of Web3. As more and more value is handled by dApps, they become targets for hackers looking to exploit vulnerabilities.

He will break down what these attacks look like, why they are a big deal, and how they can impact everything from your favorite dApps to the entire blockchain ecosystem.
But don’t worry! We will also cover some practical defenses and best practices to help keep your projects safe. 
 
Speaker: Martin Monperrus is Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and co-founder of mab.xyz.

Research Talk: Alienation as a Central Problem of IS Theorizing
Join us for a thought-provoking talk by Professor Ojelanki Ngwenyama who will critically examine the current state of Information Systems (IS) theorizing.

In this presentation, he will argue that IS research has become overly narrow, focusing primarily on individual-level concerns like technology adoption while losing sight of the broader sociotechnical complexity of digitalisation.

This talk will challenge us to rethink the foundations of IS research and consider how we might better address the profound social implications of digital technologies.

The talk will take place on 22 May from 11:30-13:00 in room 5A60.
