Short News
As of April 2025, Gitte Bang Stald has taken the role of Center Lead. 

April 26: Vasilis Galis was cited in the Danish newspaper Information in an article titled "The supplier of the Police and PET's so-called superweapon has connections to the US intelligence services and the Trump administration,” where he raises concerns about the use of the Palantir system by Danish police and intelligence agencies.

May 8: A Theme Leads meeting was held, hosted by Center Lead Gitte Bang Stald. Together with the theme leads, we discussed future plans for CDW within the context of the new institutional restructuring. The meeting also focused on strengthening internal collaboration and developing strategies for building and maintaining external relations.

May 9: Signe Louise Yndigegn delivered an online presentation titled "Hvordan endres praksis og etikk av ny teknologi?" (How are practices and ethics changed by new technology?). Drawing on insights from the TRAnsformations in CarE (TRACE) project, she explored how the adoption of safety technologies in care services alters practices, and raised important questions about how such changes impact the experiences, norms, and ethics of care.

May 22–23: Gitte Bang Stald presented the paper "Sustainable Democracy: Potentials and Pitfalls of Young Citizens’ Informed and Democratic Citizenship" at the ECREA Communication & Democracy Section Off-Year Conference in Rotterdam. The conference theme was "Automating Democracy: AI Use Between Social Justice and Social Control."

June 20: We hosted a special open lecture by Mr. Ory Yoshifuji, co-founder of OryLab, on the topic: What Bunshin Robots Can Do to Make Our Society Better?exploring how Bunshin Robots can reshape inclusion, accessibility, and human connection in modern society. This event is co-hosted by: Signe Louise Yndigegn, Head of Bachelor programme of Digital Design and Interactive Technologies (ITU) and Mika Yasuoka Jensen, Associate Professor, Roskilde University, in collaboration with: The Digitalization, Democracy, and Governance (DDG) section and the Center for Digital Welfare, ITU; Invest in Denmark; the Embassy of Japan; and more.
